In the West, we lost our way with Christmas many years ago. The manger was replaced with a plastic tree. The baby with a fat man in red coat promoted by Coca-Cola. The giving was replaced with frantic shopping and 24/7 adverts.
But when revival meets Christmas, this changes. We’ve been
in revival at Chroma Church for a couple of years now. So, it is with some
anticipation as to what the Holy Spirit will do that we hold our Christmas
services this weekend, the first last night, two more today.
And the work of the Holy Spirit was beautiful. Many healed.
Many coming forward to give their lives to Jesus Christ. Among them, a good
number of children, a new generation following the Saviour born.
It takes guts to come to the front of a meeting with hundreds
watching. But this has happened consistently in our meetings through the year
with over 300 taking those first steps.
For some of those stepping forward last night, it was their
first time in church in many years. For some it was a coming home to a faith
they knew as a child. And for every one of those 300+ people this year, it was
a step into God’s purposes; lives changed and renewed. Bodies healed. A vision
set. And the excitement of seeing what God will do with a life given to Him.
Come and behold Him,
Born the King of Angels:
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.
