REVIVAL IN LEICESTER (34) - THE CHILDREN AND YOUTH

Over the last two years, our church attendance has doubled at Chroma. We are well over 1,200 on an average week. We are so grateful to God, with over 100 people coming to the front of the service to pray a salvation prayer since the start of the year. And it’s not just the adults - it is so good to hear reports from other parts of the church family as the revival continues.

Our Youth have found a new freedom in worship. It’s hard to stop them worshipping in their meetings, should you want to…. The worship continues for most their meeting time as they encounter the Holy Spirit.

A girl contacted one of our young leaders out of the blue, asking about church. She had shown no interest in Christianity before and had not been in contact since leaving school. But suddenly there’s the message on social media. ‘I need salvation!’ She was there on the Sunday and went forward in the meeting, praying a salvation prayer.

The fire on our youth is affecting their schools. Not only are they personally improving in their grades, they are openly speaking to their friends about their faith.

On Sunday’s, many of the youth would normally sit at the back. Now they are on the front row. There are numerous personal accounts of radical encounters with Jesus. The youth can be seen in our meetings, weeping, crying out to God, prostrate on the floor.

Unapologetic about faith, they are bringing friends to church. Jesus is the best thing ever to happen to them and that’s their message. They are challenging their friends - you either live for Him or you don't. Many are receiving direct words from the Spirit, applied to their lives and spoken to others. For many, there is a new understanding of Father God, His love, His acceptance.

It’s not just our youth. Our children are asking parents to read from the Bible for their bedtime story. They can be found in their bedrooms by their parents, reading the Bible rather than playing with toys. They are asking their parents and grandparents to go to church. And if the adult appears not to have a faith, they are challenging them to go to the front of the meeting.

Our Sunday Children’s Work has doubled with over 140 attending. The Children’s Team can see right in front of them, children falling in love with Jesus.
