Leicester is a multicultural city. With a population of 370,000, 24% hold to a Muslim faith and 23% are Hindu or Sikh. In order to reach these good people with the gospel, God chooses wisely.
Satya was born in India and was once a part of a radical Hindu militant organisation whose primary aim was to rid the nation of Christians and Muslims. Arriving in Britain, God had a surprise for him. Together with his wife Gisela, they found themselves at the front of a meeting giving their lives to Jesus Christ.
The radical Hindu had become a radical Christian.
Clearly hearing God's call to go to Leicester, the couple
began to work into the city in 2019, moving there later that year and starting
More Church (short for Ministry of Reconciliation) in 2020.
Over the last four years, healing has become
increasingly common. A lady with a cancerous cyst saw it disappear in front of
her eyes. A woman with severe arthritis was able to throw her crutches away as
God completely healed her. A man with kidney disease had been advised that
medically there was no hope. When he went for a scan, the doctor couldn't
understand how he had new kidneys.
Just last week, someone in severe back pain for the
last seven years was completely healed in one of the meetings.
The congregation is majority Asian, with 80% from a Gujarati background. Along with a number of churches in Leicester, More Church is seeing a significant work of the Holy Spirit in this revival city.
In
Satya’s own words, ‘We're seeing crazy miracles on a weekly basis!’
