Leicester is a city of nations. According to The Independent newspaper, It’s the second most multicultural city in the UK (after London) and the first to tip over more than 50% of other nationalities. It’s an amazing city, representing, as it does, nearly every nation.
It’s the city closest to the central point in England. And
it’s a city in revival, close to God’s heart. At Chroma Church, we saw 278
people walk to the front of our meetings in 2025, to give their lives to Jesus
Christ. Nearly 100 were baptised, and our reach around the globe was phenomenal
with 8.1 million streaming Chroma Worship worldwide.
It’s a story of the many and of the one. Here’s a story of just
one of the lives that was changed this last year:
My name is Subs. I’m fifty-three years old. For forty-five
years of my life, I’ve been a practicing Hindu. I would pray to many different
gods, for many different reasons. Only I
never seemed to find answers. Nor did I
ever feel the presence of the gods I was praying to. After some of my darkest
moments in life, I began to question God. I asked God if he was real and to
show me how to pray to Him, so that I could feel His presence. That’s when I
heard His name deep in my heart ... Jesus.
This went on for weeks. His name kept popping up randomly, in
books, in conversations, in my thoughts. I started following Christian content
on YouTube to learn more. Because my journey was completely solo, I would have
many Bible based conversations with my daughters, without actually mentioning
the Bible. Through these conversations, they went on their own separate
journeys.
I continued in my relationship with Jesus, falling
completely in love with my true living God whom I now see in ALL of my past,
present and future.
But of course, Jesus, wasn’t quite finished showing me how
REAL he truly was! Fast-track to today …. both my daughters, their mother, my
daughter’s partner, (from a Sikh background), members of his family, and my partner
have all given and devoted their lives to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. They
have all been filled with the Holy Spirit.
