There was a big smile on Luke’s face.
‘Church isn’t normally like this!’
I knew what he meant. Luke is a well-known evangelist,
having just moved to Leicester. His experience, as for many of us, is something
less than we were witnessing that evening.
We were both looking on and listening in to the stunning
testimonies at one of our Revival Night prayer times.
Miracle after miracle. Verified by doctors. Cancers falling
off. Heart conditions healed. Stories of financial freedom. Depression
defeated. Family members saved.
Every week.
Of course, church really is meant to be like this, but many
of us have accepted something less than New Testament Christianity.
I remember reading a book as a young Christian. The Normal
Christian Life by Watchman Nee. As I read it, I quickly reached the conclusion
that what I was reading was anything but normal. It was supernatural living. It
was life in the Spirit. And that is Nee’s point of course. That is what is
meant to be normal.
We’ve been in revival now for three years at Chroma Church Leicester. What is
supernatural is normal. But there is more to come. We’ve really only just
started. With rumours of revival right around the UK, what is seen as normal
will be seen as abnormal. What is seen as supernatural will be seen as everyday
Christian living.
Therse are good days to live in.
